Localisation is a special type of translation. During localisation, the expression of the message and the preservation of the form as well as the intended effect are a lot more important than the accurate translation of the content. Localisation needs a different type of approach and mind set than ‘ordinary’ translation. During localisation a translation works creatively, which is not generally the case in relation to ordinary translation assignments.
